Made from the exceptional 2018 harvest, this is 100% Huxelrebe with a subtle botrytis character. At 12% alcohol the wine has retained some unfermented sugar (10 g/L) so is an off-dry style. It has flavours of apricot and stone fruit with a honeyed background, very clean and fruit-driven similar to a Riesling in balance.
Only 500 bottles were made and we may never be able to make a wine like this again. I expect it will mature over 3 to 4 years as the flavours mellow and sweetness becomes more apparent.
The label has been designed to incorporate the fingerprints of all the guys in the vineyard who have had a hand in the production of this wine.
